José María Muscari

José María Muscari is an Argentinean actor, playwright and director. His first experience as an actor was at the age of 16 with his own show, Necesitamos Oxígeno (We need oxygen) at the Parakultural Center in Buenos Aires, and at the age of 18 he debuted as playwright and director of Criaturas de las sombras (Creatures of the shadows), a show of poetic intertextuality. Since his childhood he took acting courses, then he studied at the Municipal School of Dramatic Art and complemented his training with contemporary dance classes. In addition to his role as playwright and stage director, in many of his plays he intervenes in the scenography and theatrical composition, achieving a variety of aesthetic formats. The circuits in which he presents his shows and production are also varied: he alternates between self-management, official, commercial and independent theater. Throughout his career he has been invited on several occasions as a jury member for festivals; he has given acting, directing and dramaturgy seminars in different institutions; he gives workshops at the Espacio Callejón and Espacio Ecléctico theaters and directing classes at the General San Martín Municipal Theater, and at the Ricardo Rojas Cultural Center.
Además de su rol de dramaturgo y director de escena, en muchas de sus obras interviene en la escenografía y la composición teatral, logrando variedad de formatos estéticos. Los circuitos en los que presenta sus espectáculos y la producción, también son variados: alterna entre la autogestión, el teatro oficial, el comercial y el independiente. A lo largo de su carrera fue convocado en varias oportunidades como jurado de festivales; ha dictado seminarios de actuación, dirección y dramaturgia en diversas instituciones; dicta seminarios de taller montaje en los teatros Espacio Callejón y Espacio Ecléctico y clases de dirección en el Teatro Municipal General San Martín y en el Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas.
He has a show business column twice a week in Reynaldo Sietecase's show Guetap, on Mario Pergolini's radio Vorterix Rock, and a show on Ciudad abierta channel, Muy Muscari, in which he interviews celebrities at his home.
