María Belén Poncio

Maria Belen Poncio is a filmmaker from Córdoba, Argentina, passionate about telling stories with a gender perspective and exploring new narrative boundaries. She studied at the National University of Córdoba. She directed and co-wrote the virtual reality short film "4 Feet: Blind Date" which was part of the Biennale College Cinema VR and had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival 2018. It also premiered at Sundance Film Festival 2019, and won awards for best narrative VR at SXSW 2019, Guanajuato Film Festival 2019, Trieste Go Short 2019 and Dok Leipzig 2019. He then directed and co-wrote the multi-format series "4 Feet High", which combines chapters in virtual reality, with traditional 16:9 web series chapters. She premiered two chapters in virtual reality at the Venice Film Festival 2020, and all 10 chapters in both formats at Sundance 2021. At SXSW 2021 the web series won the jury and audience award for best series pilot. And the virtual reality series also premiered at the official Annecy 2021 competition. 4 Feet: Blind Date, que formó parte del Biennale College Cinema VR y tuvo su estreno mundial en el Festival de Cine de Venecia 2018. También estrenó en el Festival de Sundance 2019, y ganó premios a mejor VR narrativo en SXSW 2019, Festival de Guanajuato 2019, Trieste Go Short 2019 y Dok Leipzig 2019. Luego dirigió y coescribió la serie multiformato 4 Feet High, que combina capítulos en realidad virtual, con capítulos de serie web 16:9 tradicional. Estrenó dos capítulos en realidad virtual en el Festival de Venecia 2020, y los 10 capítulos de ambos formatos en Sundance 2021. En SXSW 2021 la serie web ganó el premio del jurado y del público a mejor piloto de serie. Y la serie de realidad virtual se estrenó también en la competencia oficial de Annecy 2021.
